job scam
I was told I would be doing a data entry position. This is a contractor position and payment is 35$/hr, this will be remitted weekly, via Check for the first 2 weeks and they would set up direct deposit after that. I was also told the company will be issuing me a check, this will be for the purchase of all the equipment needed for the project from the company’s local vendor that is closest to my location, method of purchase and payment will be made known to me, once I receive the check, which will be arriving soonest. Our supply team will begin scanning for vendors around my environment based on the zip code provided in my address. When I ask could we discuss this via phone I was told I would get a call the next I never did. I called the number listed on the site to the confirm the job and the lady on the phone ask for the email address that reached out to me, then she proceeded to say that this is a scam and disconnected the phone. PLEASE BEWARE! Thank goodness they did not get my social or account information!
